- Health plans have not been successful in reigning in price increases
- This will only change when employers and their advisors change their focus to the effectiveness of health plans in negotiating contracts with health systems, large medical groups and PBMs
- High health costs are not only an employer issue, but also affects employees as both premium contributions and cost sharing features (e.g. HDHPs) have grown substantially over the past decade
